John Beck
Chairman / Trustee
John has worked in the voluntary sector for many years. His knowledge and experience has brought much to the current and future development of the network. Professionally, John works within the third sector and is respected for his particular knowledge and experience in the field of funding.
Garry has been involved in the Vountary and Community sector for many years and has a special interest in pre-school education. A professional development consultant, Garry brings a raft of administrative experience and knowledge to the network.
Shahida is an internationally known ceramic artist and works in the field of education. She has a keen interest in the sector and has been involved with setting up community groups and has experience of working at board level across a number of arts based organisations.
David is a former police officer and is an active member of the Pendle Seniors Group. Elected to the board of PCN in 2006, David brings the interests of the more senior members of our community to the table for discussion and action.
Margaret is the current Chair of Burnley Pendle & Rossendale CVS, as a resident of Brierfield she has and continues to be active within the community and brings to the Network a wealth of knowledge and experience in community development. Margaret also chairs the Pendle Domestic Violence Forum.
Waqar was appointed to the board of directors following the 2008 Annual General Meeting. His voluntary and community experience working in a number of environments in support of the BME community, is a valuable asset to the network. Waqar gives a significant amount of time in a voluntary capacity supporting sporting activities
Mike Sutcliff is an international sales consultant and as a former member of the Royal Navy, has a keen interest in ex-Service welfare and service youth groups. Both Mike and his wife have been active in local voluntary and community sector activities over many years and have been succesful in fund raising for local youth groups and MENCAP.
Mike is currently the Welfare Officer for the Royal British Legion in Nelson and District.
Mick has been an active member of his local community for many years with a particular interest in youth activities and education. A founder member of the Pendle Panthers Girls ARLFC, Mick is a keen and able governor on two local school governing bodies.
Salim works for the Building Bridges Interfaith Project in Nelson and has over the last five years worked within primary and secondary schools delivering citizenship programmes to pupils, parents and teachers. Salim's organisational skills will make a useful contribution to the network.
